Forest of Amaranthus

There are many different species on Amaranthus including  "Eucalyptus obliqua " (Stringybark, brown-top Messmate), Eucalyptus gunnii" (Cider gum), "Eucalyptus dalrympleana" (Mountain White Gum), "Eucalyptus coccifera"  (Tasmanian Snow Gum) as well as "Acacia melanoxylon" (Blackwood), and "Dicksona antartica" and "Dicksona fibrosa" beautiful Man Ferns.  Below is a snapshot of this special place.

This is the "Big Tree" a "Eucalyptus obliqua " (Stringybark, brown-top Messmate), largest tree found on the property and measures about eleven meters across. It has survived a bush fire which left only a 50cm wall of trunk yet it continues to grow. The next two photos show its size.
